There will be Clydesdale (200 # and up) and Athena (150 # and up) divisions but they will start within their age groups so national ranking points can be awarded.
This years triathlon offers a unique swim venue. There will be 2 swim courses. The open water swim will be 600 meters and will be held in Sloan’s Lake. The other swim course will be held in the Municipal pool. This swim distance will also be 500 meters but will only have 50 slots available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In order to accommodate this unique pool/open water swim, the transition area will still be in Lion’s Park, in the parking lot just west of the Community house and adjacent to the large gazebo. So those in the open water swim will exit the beach and go right on the jogging path to get to the transition area. Those in the pool swim will head south out of the pool on the grassy area between the Spray park and the Put Hut Minature golf course to get to the transition area. Due to the possible rough terrain between the pool and the transition area, it is recommended that all those competing in the pool swim have some sort of foot attire to get from the pool to the transition area.
Since the pool swim and lake swim are considered 2 different courses, the pool swim contestants and the lake swim contestants will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group for those competing in pool swim and for those competing in lake swim.
